The Sad Short Story

1) I learned about the Cashback America Deferred Rebate Program (scheme) back in 2004.  Realizing it was a scam, I created CashbackAmericasucks.com to inform consumers to avoid both the Cashback America (CBA) rebate program and retailers who promote it.

2) From 2004 until late 2007, the CashbackAmericaSucks.com website helped consumers avoid the CBA rebate program and provided occasional updates on the CBA program.

3) In late 2007, CBA was forced out of business by the Florida Attorney General as described on the Orlando, FL, Better Business Bureau website.  The civil complaint from the Florida Ninth Judicial Circuit Court is posted here.  The current status is found here.  In December of 2007, CBA and USAS offices in the Orlando shut down completely.

4) As of December 2008, I regularly hear from website visitors who (naturally) cannot reach anyone at CBA (it's shut down).  I recommend that rebate holders contact their state attorney general and the Florida Attorney General.  I also recommend that rebate holders provide me with the names of retailers (Culprits) who worked with CBA to promote this clown show.
